Nootka's Calf, sometimes referred to as April, an unofficial name given due to her birth-month, was an 11-day-old female Icelandic killer whale calf who lived at Marineland of Canada. She was born there on April 7th, 2004. Her mother was Nootka V and her father was Kandu VII. Little is known about her birth, but according to regulars at the time, she did not nurse from Nootka and had to be separated almost immediately. She passed away due to malnutrition on April 18th, 2004.
